Forums are most essential thing to detect how site goes, how payments goes, etc. There you will read many news from admins and opinions from members of current PTC you are aiming. Reading the forums will make the things clear about sustainability and vitality of the sites and will help you make the right decision.
Sometimes changes on the PTC site are only announced on their forums. You need to be active forum member to be informed about their future acts.
Some sites have complaint section on their forums. Thats a good sign. It's a sign for honestly in some way. But other forums doesn' have section/s like this, which is sign of something rotten. It's a bad sign when forum rules allow only good words, and positive language, in utopian worlds money doesn't exist at all. Be careful with those sites, they are hidding something wrong and dont want this to be matter of common knowledge.

Golden Rule 4 : Avoid sites without forum! Site owner doesn't want to contact his members for their problems with site browsing/payments/opinions? So, admin is lazy to make a forum, and you hope this person to pay in time? Come on, be more suspicious!
